The high pressure, natural gas pipeline now runs right by us, along the edge of the road and about six feet deep. The line will carry gas to the paper mill in Madison. For several days last week the construction was at our place. Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday they worked all day, starting at 6:30 am directly above our house. The noise of excavators, rollers, dump trucks and stop and go road traffic was hellish. One photo shows the metal pipe laid out for welding along the top of our property. The other photo was taken Sunday morning of the six-foot deep trench dug across our driveway. The shadow of a second big excavator behind me falls across the ditch. They’ve now moved a couple miles down the road and their noise no longer disturbs us.
